Beef and Enoki Mushroom Rolls

INGREDIENTS

Beef
  • 1 pack of Sadia Beef Shabu Shabu
Ingredients
  • 300g enoki mushroom
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp of oil
Broth
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp hondashi powder
Garnishing
  • Green onion, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

METHOD

  1. Mix together the ingredients for the broth in a bowl until the hondashi powder dissolves. Set aside once done.
  2. Trim about 2cm off at the end of the enoki mushrooms and separate them into small bundles. Wrap each bundle with the Sadia Beef Shabu Shabu slices, repeating until all are wrapped.
  3. In a saute pan over medium heat, add the oil. Once the pan is hot, add the sliced onion and saute until the onion softens and turns translucent.
  4. Once the onions are done, arrange the enoki beef rolls evenly over the sautéed onions in the pan.
  5. Next, pour the prepared seasoned broth around the pan. Once the broth is added, cover the pan with a lid and bring to boil over medium high heat for 5 minutes.
  6. Once the broth comes to a boil, reduce the heat to let the rolls simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes. Do not forget to turn the rolls to the otherside to ensure even cooking.
  7. Uncover and serve in a bowl with some rice! Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
